I don’t think Kamala was the end result of any brilliant plan. As mentioned here, the bad press that she received over the years leads one to think that they wanted her out before they got rid of Biden. Kamala had the Clinton’s support even in the primaries leading up to 2020, and Tulsi regards her as a Hillary replacement, so Harris represents one powerful faction of the party. What the Dems have at this point is no good choice, only very unpopular people since the only palatable person was Tulsi who was forced out. I believe they correctly figured it really doesn’t matter who it is. Biden proved you could have a vegetable in there and still accomplish everything they want. Might as well go with Harris.
