I’ve been on vacation in Mexico for the past two weeks. But that isn’t the reason content from me has been scarcer than normal. Yes, vacations are supposed to be for recharging and taking a break from your routine.
But as I sat down to write this morning the overwhelming sense of futility washed over me. And nothing saps your will to work more than reading through the headlines and noting the complete lack of conscience on display by the media, our political leadership or frankly anyone with half a brain.
We live in a world today where the legislature of one of the most important states in the Union, Pennsylvania, released a report where more than 200,000 votes were counted than were actually cast. And no one in our media seems to think this is news.
Worse, most people in America can’t even be bothered to care about such things. And if you were to confront them with the evidence there must be some good reason why that ‘just can’t be true.’
The FBI, which couldn’t find any issues with Hunter Biden’s laptop for months nor ever do anything substantial with Anthony Weiner’s laptop in FOUR YEARS somehow solved the case of the Nashville bomber in less than 48 hours conclusively.
And that conclusion was the same as every other major terrorist event in this country’s recent history — a lone crackpot blew himself up to make a half-formed political statement. At least this time they had the good sense to vaguely tie the patsy to the political left versus turn him into a mouth-breathing MAGAtard with a Q-complex.
And somehow no one seems to care. Nor does anyone care about the lack of conclusion about the shooting in Las Vegas a few years back.
Notice the trend? Major stories that are supposed to matter are dropped the moment they get anything close to uncomfortable for those in power who are chosen to remain in power.
I’ve always thought Donald Trump’s biggest flaw was that he was an incurious man, but compared to the so-called journalists of our corporate media Trump is the second coming of Sherlock Holmes for pity’s sake.
There are voter irregularities of a type and kind which demand real coverage, even if it turns out to be easy to cast doubt on them. And yet, after haranguing Americans TO CARE about voter fraud in places like Belarus, Crimea, Venezuela, Iran, Serbia, Georgia we’re supposed to swallow the lie this was the ‘most secure election in this country’s history’ without even a bottle of ketchup?
No matter where you are on the political spectrum, nor who your Twitter spirit guide is, all of these things should disturb you.
And yet, it doesn’t seem to. It is not CNN’s nor Fox’s decision to not report on them because they don’t want to engage in searching out the truth.
The hearings in the Georgia State Senate going on as I write this are hair-raising, painting a picture of corruption so detailed you’d think it was a Mandelbrot set.
Every rabbit hole you go down forks into a deeper one, revealing even more information about how truly corrupt and inhuman our political systems are and yet our media stands there like a thousand monkeys banging away on their iPhone keyboards trying to convince us what they are producing is Shakespeare and not auto-corrected Engrish.

If we’ve reached this level of whitewashing of the news and the truth to this point, I’m having to wonder why it is North Korea is so hated? I’m at a loss to come up with anything more accurate than competitive envy at fiction writing.
Hundreds of millions of people’s lives are being actively destroyed by overzealous governors and heads of state issuing draconian lockdown orders over a virus with multiple vaccines that are less effective than our own immune systems. A compromised WHO and CDC issue conflicting recommendations weekly and Dr. Mengele Fauci openly admits to lying to us.
They all do this without any sense of shame, shedding crocodile tears so unconvincing they could be runner-ups at a Miss America pageant. But we’re supposed to think we’re saved because Congress decided to give us a $600 advance to pay our 2020 income taxes with?
And I haven’t even scratched the surface here. We know why they are doing this — to support to open hostile takeover of what’s left of private capital markets and property in support of the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset.
Yet here I sit watching otherwise reasonable and naturally skeptical people still live within their normalcy bias to refuse the obvious propaganda and blame the victims.
It can’t be this bad right? No conspiracy can be this big? There was fraud but it’s trivial. Y’all are just sore losers and Trump really did lose his base because of his horrific foreign policy. I swear I’ve never been sadder to call myself a libertarian than I am right now.
That is nothing but rationalization to evade the reality of what has happened and what will happen. Because the sad truth is that no matter who you are when confronted with monstrous evil most people’s first reaction is to reject it.
And they do this not because they don’t believe people are capable of it.
No, we reject evil of this magnitude because in order for us to maintain our sense of self-image as rational, caring people admitting its reality implies a responsibility to do something about it.
And stopping evil takes away from “me time.”
The same operation has been done with COVID-19, any and all data associated with it, the death statistics, the miraculous immunity to influenza Americans now seem to have, etc.

And if we are going to just sit back, mask up, accept the $600, put our heads down and “believe all talking heads” then what’s the point in pointing out the hypocrisy of it all?
The new Super-COVID is here and it’s time to believe it all again.
Isn’t that the real lesson of 2020? Don’t fight the crazy just cling to the delusion that a mask isn’t a muzzle, guns can’t protect you and we still live in a society with something approximating rules.
Isn’t that what all of this irreality is for, to desensitize us to their outrageousness? To normalize their grotesquerie? I mean, really, does anyone honestly believe any single word that comes out of Nancy Pelosi’s mouth?
I didn’t think they made masks big enough to contain the Pinocchio nose she has to have at this point. Maybe she’s had to have so much plastic surgery to contain it that it collapsed like Michael Jackson’s and it’s actually now just negative space.
I don’t know anymore.
It would almost be okay going along with all of this nonsense if they were in any way artful about it. If I could, at the very least, appreciate the craft, you know, as a writer and an artist then it would make the double whiskies go down a little easier.
I could almost stomach it if they even put in the least little effort to convince me through something approximating a good performance. I gave up on them trying to convince me with argument ages ago. But a little sincerity to go with the virtue signaling would make the game worth playing.
But they can’t even give us that anymore. That’s how much contempt they have for us.
And it’s easy for them to have that contempt because, frankly, that’s how much contempt we must have for ourselves to go along this perfunctorily towards their dystopia.
Unless 2021 is the year everything changes. Unless 2021 is the year we finally show the barest minimum of self-respect, take off the masks, turn off the screens and get prepared to fight harder than we ever have.
I’ll be here even though, at times, it feels futile. Because it is just that, a feeling. And feelings are as ephemeral and temporary as Anderson Cooper’s dalliances with the truth.
Which, I guess, is as good a lesson to absorb from 2020 as anything else.
Join My Patreon if you you too feel there is something horribly wrong with this world.
Tom, You are misinformed if you think Trump is incurious. He speaks at least six languages, is a Sun Tzu scholar, has served as an FBI source/informant, accomplished at chess, and I’d bet Go. You don’t become a billionaire in a highly competitive cut throat Manhattan and resort real estate industry by being a dolt! Don’t confuse his “stage persona” for the real man.
I agree his style is off-putting, as most New Yorkers are, as you well know!
The depths of the hypocrisy and immorality in our dominant socio-political culture is breathtaking.
I’m ready for Trump to bring the Hammer of Thor, Sidney’s Kraken, Special Forces, or whatever it takes down on these cretins! Dawn to dusk Firing Squads should do the trick after a few weeks!
People do seem to be acting like deer caught in the headlights on a remote highway. The coordinated lying & corruption by those in power (or, sometimes, uncoordinated) is so massive that, ordinary Americans, born and raised to believe that we are the nation of freedom, cannot deal. It’s like the whole nation just got a group cancer diagnosis and they’ve lost the ability to think. This Covid nonsense was implemented in such a way that it snatched the proverbial rug out from under everyone. The coordinated media frightened everyone with “the killer virus” then, the lockdowns crushed their ability to take care of themselves. So, the shock of the loss of livelihood coupled with the intense fear of a killer virus has numbed many and made screaming mimis out of the others. The voting fraud is painfully obvious and the lack of effort of those to rectify it is painfully obvious, too but, the general public is too traumatized to be bothered. If you have the choice to worry about where your next meal is coming from or whether you should be outraged over a stolen election (and rendered powerless to stop it), feeding your family takes precedence. You just don’t have the faculties to deal with the rest of the shit. Now…if you have some money set aside (which most don’t, living paycheck to paycheck) and loss of a job or lack of food isn’t a concern, then, maybe you might jump in and help with the voting fraud or you might protest at a governor’s mansion…or march on DC. If you are filthy rich, you are most likely part of the planned game that is afoot or you have some integrity, aren’t part of this madness but, don’t care because you are safe somewhere on a private island.
It’s not that folks don’t care. They do. They just don’t know how to fix a problem bigger than anything they’ve ever seen in their lives. And, it appears that, the folks with all the power might just have more guns than the proles do. In most cases, to relieve the pressure, most zone out on binge watching or playing stupid games on their phones…anything to distract them from the disaster rolling down the hill at them.
Things will get even more bizarre Jan. 6 and on Jan. 20. Hold on to your ass.
Not a bad psychoanalysis, except for the fact that 90% of Dems see no problems, nor 30% of republicans, and independents seem 50-50 on the issues you mention. Some feel overwhelmed, yes; but most of the others are pronouncedly underwhelmed. I’m afraid you are underestimating and understating the problem.
Tom, this is depressing reading, and I’m with you on all of it.
“But as I sat down to write this morning the overwhelming sense of futility washed over me.”
I have felt this often. I think all you can do sometimes is assume you are reaching out to The Remnant.
Tom, alas … we are being shown, if we lacked the full appreciation for what it means, that we live in the Matrix. We might have understood that, but behold, the breadth and depth of it is being unveiled now in ways we have never, ever, seen before. Why? Can this be of any use to us? Is there anything positive and of real importance we can mine from this juncture in history?
The initial point of entry may vary from person to person, but given a Western background, reading first what the Gnostics said about “reality” might be a good start, then educate yourself on the Indian philosophical concept of Maya, how the world is exactly that, and then go deeper down that Indian rabbit hole to find answers to the perennial questions: why are we here and what can we do about it?
Beyond our eyes being opened to the reality of what the world has always been (a psychopath’s wet dream), we should redouble our efforts at looking behind that curtain to see what points of light of the past have claimed to be ultimate truth, one that we must not believe, but personally and experientially confirm to be ultimate reality. They claim that a scientific approach on this matter is the way to go.
Best for 2021
Good Morning Tom
America has been turned into a utopia for socially adept psychopaths. Where organized parasitism, corruption, lying and gaslighting go unpunished. How many years before the crackup boom implodes the US economy?
The way I look at it, is that the MICC, Wall Street and the neo cons have all ready lost World War Hegemony and the way I motivate myself is to wage war on Wall Street by enriching myself at Wall Street’s expense.
+253% profit in 2020 by trend trading.
I live in the Sacramento area of California. For months I’ve been writing to our useless governor, my state representatives, county health officials and even our local newspaper about how the numbers and data (from official state and county sources) around covid don’t match the hyperbole and fear mongering around this thing and certainly don’t justify the destructive lockdown/business closures that have followed. I’ve backed up my points with official data many times and the result has been the same- deafening silence. I’ve implored the Sacramento Bee multiple times to investigate issues around PCR tests and the results they give as these results (“cases”, infection rate, etc.) have been the key component that governor ***hole has used to imprison people in their homes and destroy businesses throughout the state. Given the critical nature of these test results and how they’ve been used to justify the governor’s destruction, you’d think something as critical as this would be subject to some sort of investigative journalism. Think again. The Bee has been useless, as have county health officials as both have done nothing but act as stenographers for the governor while carrying his water without question. Hell, I even sent the Bee a list of questions they should be asking about the PCR tests to help them. The result? Absolutely nothing, which is basically how it’s gone and presumably will continue to go as nothing has changed over the months.
My wife and I voted with out feet and relocated out of CA in 2019. The state is too far gone for reforming, sorry to say.
Disgust and ignorance works both ways. When anti communist side finally acts, then demoralized public also does not cares.
Or agrees. Dear Mr. Putin, could you kindly kill all your enemies at once so we finally could get rid from every day Russia hysteria. I agree to bring my Gramma wedding ring to pawnshop and buy rat poison with my own money to put hysteria about Navalny to end
You are disgusted, I am too and everybody else also. So when somebody makes sudden and maybe illegal move, everybody will be happy.
Psychological war is like every war. When the exhaustion crosses certain limit , everybody want somebody to end the war. Even when this somebody commits war crimes or signs the capitulation act or whatever.
Muh constitution becomes fuckh constitution. Just put the Supreme Court on the airplane and drop them somewhere between Pakistan and Afghanistan. So conservative Supreme Court can argue with Islamic State shariah court, do they need more workforce or tax cuts or support to Israel. They can also bomb each other., when the air force is piloted by obese lesbian pilots.
Average guy just want all those crazy people with their madness gone. Getting average guy to that point demonstrates that Donald is stable genius.
At the moment, we are winning and winning yuuge.
I used to respect Donald Trump, even voting for him in 2016. (But living in frigid Wyoming; whether or not I supported Trump hardly matters.) That all changed the morning of (when was it?) 3 January 2020 when the internet announced that Trump had assassinated General Qassem Soleimani in Iraq … and was bragging about it. With that single act Trump exposed himself as nothing more than a cheap-suit garden-variety murderer with too much power.
Whatever else he was, General Soleimani was a literate and polished man who expressed himself well and sympathetically. His words and demeanor commanded attention. He deserved respect. By what right was this person, or indeed anyone ever, murdered? So all this wailing and gnashing of teeth about Trump’s losing the election falls on deaf ears here. Better Trump be gone and the sooner the better. President Hassan Rouhani is too kind: Trump “deserves to be relegated to the dust bin of history”.
But surely there are others who feel the same way? And perhaps, like me, they may or may not have voted for Biden, but would not vote again for Trump in any case. And they probably don’t live in such blood-red states as Wyoming. I believe that, despite apparent cheating, Trump did in fact lose. He lost for a variety of reasons, General Soleimani’s assassination perhaps among them. The litany of other reasons for such loss need not be repeated here as others have done it so well elsewhere.
You write: “… the overwhelming sense of futility washed over me. …”
So Mr. Luongo, I agree there is certainly rampant rot and corruption in our government, the media, and just about everywhere else one turns, even in people themselves; as such is inherent in human nature. New Year’s resolution: You need be more pragmatic. Such will ease your restiveness, preserve your sanity. Take some more time off from work. Maybe go back to Mexico for a few more delightful weeks. Go fishing. Just lay on sunny beach sand somewhere, listening to soothing surf sounds. Read a good book. Work on that novel! Maybe see a good movie for fresh insights. Welcome to the layer cake.
P.S. … and have a better way than your patraon or paypal whatever, for old codgers like me to donate the old-fashioned way.
Jammer, thanks for the support and the suggestions. If you want to donate or support me directly, you can do so through paypal if you’d like. It is certainly not necessary.
Have a wonderful New Year’s.

Hang in there. Now we need Patriots more than ever before.
Oh I am. Just needed to get my exhaustion off my chest. Thank you!
For me 2020 will be the year, a critical mass of people finally recognized the consummate evil that infects our government.
After the Assassination of William McKinley, after the establishment of the Federal Reserve Bank, after the establishment of the Internal Revenue Service, after the manufacture of World War I, after the manufacture the Great Depression, after the imposition of Prohibition (i.e. Covid like scam for crushing small business); after the manufacture of World War II; after the manufacture of the Cold War, after the Korean War, after the assassination of JFK, after the Vietnam War, after the assassination of RFK, after the assassination of MLK, after the attack on the USS Liberty, after Watergate, after the Iran Hostage Crisis, after Iran-Contra, after the First Gulf War, after Y2K, after 9-11, after the second gulf war, after Abu-Ghraib, after the Color Revolutions, after Russiagate, after Ukrainegate, I was hoping somebody was paying attention.
Finally the time has come.
The good news it is a popular uprising.
The best news is that it will be hard to break and crush,
Over 90% of the loop mask is made in Malaysia and there are shady operations across Asia where masks are made in the most unhygienic manner. Quite a few youtubes on that. A recent study showed effects of cotton fibers embedded deep within the lungs resulting in Pulmonary Fibrosis and worth reading. I quote:
Pulmonary fibrosis is among the worst diseases that can be suffered or witnessed. It kills exceedingly slowly, by ever-thickening matrix formation, a kind of scar tissue, obstructing the alveoli and reducing their air exchange. The illness worsens slowly over time, and suffocates the victim very gradually.
Therefore, there is even more need that the fibers, debris and other particulate attached to cloth masks would stay entirely intact; every fiber, and every part of every fiber, and throughout every breath, at all times, even down to the size of nanometers.
[Masks, false safety and real dangers, Part 1: Friable mask particulate and lung vulnerability-pdf]https://childrenshealthdefense.org/wp-content/uploads/Masks-false-safety-and-real-dangers-Part-1-Friable-mask-particulate-and-lung-vulnerability.pdf
Things always seem darkest before the dawn. Without our consent, they have no power. As their legitimacy fades away, so does consent. These are acts of desperation, not power, a last ditch effort to steal whatever is left. It’s backfiring, unraveling…you can see the fear in their soulless eyes.
I love the way you think and agree completely. It’s still exhausting. Be well!
Pure wisdom is often found in the most unsuspecting places. The past 9 months I have travelled the backroads of Alabama. I’ve been putting together a network of trusted farmers who raise what I don’t.
I stopped in a little village store in northeast Alabama, population, less than 300. The clerk and I got to talking…. (My opening line is always, ‘the bloody world’s gone mad… It’s non committal and always elicits a response. One way or the other. In rural Alabama the general response is ‘to hell with ’em. Try that sh*t here, and we’ll see how that turns out.’ Generally as they brandish a side arm.)
But this little clerk was different. She simply said, ‘folks have lost their faith and morals’.
I challenge anyone here to come up with a more succinct reply to the cultural free fall in which we find ourselves.
(And like the previous commenter, this statement is both negative and positive. A loss in faith in ‘American institutions’ can be the first step in remaking our communities into true communities unencumbered by the Swamp.
Well said. We are past the point of reason. Its a shame this country is going to the dustbin. Its time to water the tree of liberty, but revolution is a young mans game and the soybois of this generation just don’t care enough. I defended the constitution for 44 years. Its heartbreaking to know I’ve wasted my life doing so.
Mr. Luongo,
I’m a fan who enjoys your interviews and writings. I agree with your sentiment here.
I worked in a corporate environment for a few years. In my experience, corporate environments are like smaller versions of bigger society with fewer layers of abstraction that reveal a few of the gears more easily…
What I learned from my experience is, serving wicked systems is fruitless and destructive, and resisting them is also fruitless and destructive. We must focus on ourselves to be spiritually strong and to serve the people around us who love us. Give to Caesar was is his and nothing more.
I recently kept these notes from spiritual content I found on the internet and want to share them here,
* the truth is permanent
* we all can seek and find the truth
* no material power in the world can stop it, it can distract and try to deceive or pervert it but cannot stop it
* if we are trying earnestly with heart and mind, we will find it
Well said Bumble!
I heard this story many times over from people who lived in the vicinity of a certain death camp during WW2 in an area that belongs to my country. That hundreds of people of a certain faith were driven by just a few soldiers and not a hint of opposition or flight. They would walk in quiet desperation or acceptance of what would be their end. And in the surrounding villages too there was this unnatural connection of terror to passive acceptance to what was going on. It was this collective perception that the unfolding reality is too big, too inevitable to even consider an act of opposition. Only when the Soviet army liberated the camps, and of course with it the imposition of a new order, but order nonetheless, could some process of reconciliation start to take place.
Maybe a poor comparison, but I cannot help but think that fear and passive acceptance is so deeply entrenched into the distributions in American society (power, money, jobs, relevance, status, survival) that the now highly engineered society (politics, finance, media, big-tech, big-agro, big-pharma, defense) can only continue by feeding off huge sections of society where the moral backbone used to reside. And the benefactors, authors, of this engineering project are incapable, or unwilling to see what they have done and continue to do, and maybe in some cases they have no intention to.
Now is always a good time as any to start paying attention, but the authority figures representing this are far and few between. Demonization is the playbook. Not to mention the nation’s institutions, civil, quasi and governmental – they are lock step in concerted efforts to maintain the fear, manipulate the voices of frustration and essentially make sure that people cannot see what is going on. If you think differently, it does not really matter, because as the elections have shown, due process is more or less dead.
I suspect that it is too late for any kind of voluntary return to social sobriety, in part because too many people are on the take and in part because the oppositional energy is not allowed to coalesce around any authority. So thinking again of various events from the 20th century, it could well be that only some external challenge to the systemic megalomania coming from the societal engineers can crack the collective delusions that rule both sides of the divide. Alternatively, that they simply run out of their limitless zeros. Then again I come from a different epoque when work had an intrinsic meaning to it. Many bad things happened, but the authorities did not have the resources to implement such a totally corrosive order, which the engineered state has defacto become.
My guess is that you will have to wait and practice extreme patience before the corrections you so valiantly argue for make their way in society, past the highly invasive fear and passive acceptance, that continue to keep everything the way it is. But let me be wrong.
I also live in the Eastern Europe near those so called camps.
What we believe right now, is the “Nazi Monster” is dooming western societies.
Nazis were ultimate evil. To avoid repeating this horror, everything is allowed. Entire communism or as you say liberal democracy is based on evil Nazi myth. This time we will not let things go to the death camps.
Antifa believes the constitution, free speech, freedom of association and all other things. But when Nazis are nearby then certain measures and exceptions are justified.
When the Trump supporters are here then brown shirts can`t be far away. When there is conservative speaker, then Goebbels will be next. When you have Robert Lee memorial, you may be sure that gas chambers are already under construction nearby
So despite being pro free speech pro constitution, pro everything, all those freedoms can not be used to prepare the extermination of millions of people. Now good people accept when brave Antifa roots out the future Nazi Monsters with iron hand and breaking law or two.
Those countries, who were really under German occupation, like Poland or Hungary. somehow do not have the Nazi Monster concept. And somehow they do not have immigration, they have really free speech without political correctness like you call communist censorship and many other things.
Maybe, Nazi Monster with communism can`t push down here because people living in the Easter Europe have historical memory and people know that everything told about evil Nazis is one big fat lie.
Sometimes societies go mad. You never won the Nazis Like Aztecs never won the battle against climate change. As we know, Aztecs sacrificed humans to keep sun rising.
Sun is still rising and there will be always people who like family, prosperity common sense and so on, so Nazis will be also with us always. But sometimes some civilizations go mad and destroy itself fighting self invented ghosts and monsters.
Enjoy your vacation to its fullest. We all need to recover and decompress after the ludicrous year we have just survived. Don’t forget that it always looks darkest just before the dawn, and I believe I might already be glimpsing her rosy fingers stroking the horizon. I think you may be very pleasantly surprised this month by all the strategies that have been unfolding completely under the radar.
If the most bungling coup ever attempted does, indeed, spiral down the drain this month, all of us will then have to deal with most things continuing to outright suck, as more and more of our cherished presumptions head down the drain with it. Righting this election is important, but it can’t even begin to right our capsized ship of state. I’ll take any tactical successes along the way, even though I think a strategic win is way beyond America’s reach at this point. Recovering any sense of balance would truly be a blessing.
And what will we be able to do to comfort the brainwashed hordes, when the cold, hard smack of reality sends them reeling into psychotic break? Many innocent people have been rendered so fragile and brittle over the past four years that they may not survive the shock. Hopefully, we will be able to get over our much-deserved schadenfreude rapidly, so we can help them recover their atrophied sense of perspective. God knows, we’ve become true experts at holding onto a sense of perspective through trying times! Thank you for helping us all with that noble goal.
It’s no longer a “sleight of hand”, the information is out there and people are being willfully blind and ignorant. It is a sense of security I suppose. I have found it is futile myself because why do we show people the truth only for them to tell us “Nuh-uh, orange man bad!” as we watch them throwing a tantrum as a 2 years old child would when we try to teach them right from wrong…
JD you are right. What you have to do now is make them confront their positions and ask them what should be done about it?
People are immune to facts when they’ve been propagandized. This is as true for shitlibs as it is for Q-tards.
What you have to do is confront them with their positions and what they think should be done about it. Was it right to remove Trump from the public square? Do people have a right to air their opinions in public? Is it right for a Trump voter to lose their job over their politics?
Where do you draw the line? Just use the Socratic Method on them and back them into a corner with their own arguments. They will hate you for it, but so what? They already hate you. Likely they’ll moderate after the conversation’s over and the challenges percolate.
I have yet to back down from a Q’tard nor a Libtard! Sadly though, they do retreat and without giving any clear answers as to why they believe what they believe other than “You are just a conspiracy theorist” or “You need to loosen your tinfoil hat”… often, as well, is the old “Only Trumpers believe in ‘fake media'”… I have gotten through to very few on either side besides my 20 and 21 years old sons who thought Socialism was an end to all the worlds problems…I think that pointing out taxing on their paychecks and how all that works (because economics isn’t required at school anymore) was really what helped, but either way they no longer think the Government should be utilized for much besides the military and global issues, and they’re leaning more now that they shouldn’t even be trusted for that.
