Hi there; I do not usually comment on your excellent podcasts, but your guest is besides being one sided, I accept this as his right, but he is factually wrong on so many points (Sharon went to the temple mount, he didn’t go into the mosque) that i was forced to turn him off. He moreover fails to mention vital facts (he at no time mentions the provocative slaughter of civilians that prompted the war) that force me to believe he is a propagandist. (he revels in delight describing the extent of the tunnels) Granted he is old and probably has a bit of Biden’s disease…
Alistair Crooke is brilliant & I always learn a lot from your podcasts with him. If anyone should know about how the British deep state works it would be him, and he seems to have come out the other side both unscathed by & with a healthy disrespect for it.
I’m amazed he appears to have won the trust of organizations like Hezbollah & Hamas, having been an MI6 operative, literally the enemy. He must have an extraordinary ability to understand & sympathize with the other side’s point of view.
Loved your take that the Israelis are the Harkonnens & that the Fremen are popping up everywhere as the Empire becomes more & more intolerable – very apt. I can’t see how things won’t end very badly for the Empire’s enforcers in the Middle East if they carry on as they are while their backers in money & materiel become ever weaker & more distracted by internal & external crises.

Alastair adds an important nuance to his talk with you here, IMHO:

With you, Alastair gave the impression that Israeli politics had “organically” shifted to the right,
which I didn’t feel quite squared with reality. But in the above interview Alastair says the Left “checked out of reality”, due to elite capture, as it also did in the United States, making the non-woke Zionists look more reasonable / relatable.
I just thought it important to mention as the “Great Check Out” of the Left has had consequences globally. In the United States, it allowed non-establishment Republicans to fill the vacuum and in Israel, Zionism filled the vacuum. It also seems responsible for Russia seeking a divorce from the West, as Putin says, “the West that he once knew no longer exists”. And it is driving a wedge between the West and the Global South as well.
It is interesting that the WEF/Davos crowd, that is ostensibly trying to govern the world, chose the most odious ideology to align itself with. So much for trying to “win hearts and minds”. (sigh)
It was great to see Alastair back on with you! I always thought that GG&G was his true home although he seems to be on with Napolitano more frequently. :)
